“DJ Heritage set out to make a mix with tracks that were popular on the dancefloors of raves and underground clubs in the early 90s but which are now mostly forgotten.
All are from 1992-94, when deep underground house sounds had a variety of influences. This mix captures the zeitgeist, vibe and energy of those times, with peaks, troughs, light, shade and of course some of those customary piano breaks.
Artists include Charles Webster (as Megatonk), Harald Blüchel (aka Cosmic Baby) and Paul van Dyk (as Visions of Shiva) and Graham Drinnan (as Gypsy and as a member of both Havana and Sublime).
It’s a two-hour-plus journey through a certain time, when the music was complex, inventive, eclectic and fresh… and nothing sounds quite like it today”
