Hailing from the South West and now based in London, Matt Cowell is a dedicated DJ who has been a consistent figure along the way. In the past, he has held a residency at Vivify, a Plymouth club night celebrated for hosting lineups of artists that include Moxie, Bradley Zero, Phil Weeks, Futureboogie, Dan Shake, John Gómez, Or:la, Sassy J and many more.

In London, Matt collaborates with various parties, magazines, and labels; Viscera, Ransom Note, and Not An Animal, while also co-founding the intimate event series, Optick. In addition to this, he co-runs Viscera Transmissions alongside Ben Carrington, a label showcasing music from artists such as Manami, Komodo and shjva. Notably in 2023, Matt and Johnny Aux remixed Latrec’s debut single, “Kutika,” under their alias, The W.C.

At Ransom Note, Matt plays a key role in curating lineups for their residency at The Social, which has welcomed an array of guests, including Optimo, Pleasure Pool, Baba Ali, Hot Concept, Slow Dance, Blankson, C.A.R., Jaye Ward and Wolf Müller to name a few.

Beyond his DJing, Matt co-hosts the show “Too Hot To Sleep” with Reefe Murphy on Radio Vilnius and has also been involved in co-hosting roles with “The Ransom Note Roll Through” on Kiosk Radio and “The Ransom Note Dispatch” on Netil Radio.
