Hi there David, how’s things? Can you introduce yourself briefly to our listeners?

Hey 🙂 I’m David, 25 years old and I work as an economist in the state. Quite busy these days but I’m great overall! I’ve been DJing and producing for approximately 10 years now and absolutely love it.

What’s been keeping you busy of late – you’re both a DJ and a producer?

My first vinyl EP was released this year through Lo Fidelity, with a remix from Nachtbraker. Really glad about this one and the support it got. Also released many mixes and singles on VAs. I’m now trying to put together a new EP, which will hopefully see the light of day soon!

I unfortunately had to cancel a few gigs lately because of my job and COVID, so I’m now waiting for new gigs to come.

Let’s talk about DJ’ing, and how did you get started?

It’s probably through my brother, who’s 9 years older than me, that I started DJing. He was into it when he was 22 and I was 13 or something. He used to play some hard dance tracks haha. 

As a DJ, you’re known for your eclectic taste in music – where can you express this? 

My radio show at Loose Antenna is absolutely great for this. I can play whatever I want. Most of the time, when I listen to music, it’s not club music. So my show is the opportunity to play jazz, soul, hip hop or anything less danceable let’s say. Here’s an example of one of my shows if you’re curious about this:

Who are the artists and DJ’s you think deserve more attention than they get currently?

Definitely Arkajo. I discovered him recently and his tracks bang in a subtle and deep way, just how I like it.

AliA is also one of my fav DJs at the moment. 

Nathan Solo. Expect some dope weird analog tracks from him. Always posts crazy clips on his IG with tracks that I wish were released 🙂

What do the coming 12 months hold for you in regards of releases, collaborations etc.?

I have a track called ‘Never Mentioned Love’ which will be out on a Sofa Movement Records’ VA LP hopefully by the end of the year. I also have an upcoming track on DimSum Records – breaky electroish stuff. Finally, I made a remix for Taste Recordings, downtempo and a bit different from what I usually do; will be released later this month. We’ll see what comes next 🙂

So the mix, can you tell us a little something about that? 

I’m quite happy about this mix! It’s the first one I could record since I got my Varia RDM20 – a Swiss rotary mixer.
